Hubbard Memorial Golf Course hosts golf expo

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — The base golf course here hosted a golf expo Sept. 5-7 featuring two professional golfers.

Hubbard Memorial Golf Course welcomed LPGA touring professionals Kim Hall and Mallory Blackwelder, who provided tips and demonstrations on putting, chipping, and driving.

Blackwelder, who has a cousin currently serving in the Air Force, commented positively on her first visit to a military base.

“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to be here,” she said. “The military does so much, sacrifices so much, and I’m glad to be here to help some people with their golf games.”

She also said she enjoyed the golf course and interacting with the base’s golfing community.

“It’s a beautiful course, nice tree line, the greens are good,” she said. “It’s a beautiful setting and I want golfers to get a little more comfortable playing and depending on which level they’re at, whether it’s beginner or more advanced, I just want them to get out here and have some fun.”

Hubbard Memorial Golf Course has five sets of tees, giving golfers a wide range of course options from 5,012 yards to 7,137 yards. No matter their skill level, every golfer can select a suitable course length and Blackwelder concurs.

“Everybody can enjoy it,” she said. “It’s challenging but it’s not too hard. I think everybody could get out here and enjoy it.”
