Col. Ron Jolly, 75th Air Base Wing and Installation commander (left) presents Tech. Sgt. Gabriel Wasnuk, 775th Civil Engineer Squadron, with the Purple Heart during a commander’s call at Hill Air Force Base on March 25. Wasnuk was awarded the Purple Heart for brain injuries he sustained during two deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as an explosive ordnance disposal technician, where he was in the area of six improvised explosive blasts.
